Hey! Hey! Whadda Say! ~It's My SITS Day!

I'm so excited!!!!
It's a good thing you can't see me through my computer... because you'd see dancing...and it ain't pretty dancing...BUT it is real excitement dancing.... and isn't that the best kind?

The reason for my dancing??? Because I am the SITS Featured Blogger today!!

Not sure what SITS is?? Well... it stands for the Secret Is in The Sauce and it is a blogging community where bloggers come together to read, and follow, and support their fellow bloggers through comments. It is the wonderful creation of Tiffany and Heather and I am sooo thankful for them! I have met and started to follow so many wonderful people because of their site!

For those who have never been here before, I tell it how it is. My emotions are many times raw and are very real. I use this blog as my outlet. I started blogging after my divorce when I had things I needed to say, but didn't need to say them to just anyone.

So...let me tell you a little about myself and my crazy life.

First of all, I am one of those people who gets herself into stupid (yet fixable) situations.(It's not a recent occurrence either... been doing it for years.) ...and, I guess, I have past that trait down to my children.
Hey... at least I can look back and laugh!

I am a mom to two beautiful, wonderfully smart little boys(Colby & Sam) who brighten my day daily even when they are driving me crazy!

When I'm not being a mom, I'm being a teacher. It's my passion. My students make my day and I try to make theirs, but sometimes they just gross me out! I guess it just comes with the territory. :)

I am divorced... which means I now get to deal with the joys of dating and an ex (and his girlfriend). It's been a curvy road, but I'm staying in between the lines.

When I have free time, (Ha. Ha. I know, free time, what's that???) I like to take pictures. I started out the year with the resolution of taking a picture every day. I failed. But that's what resolutions are for right? To be broken?
I still take pictures, just not every day.
Here are some of my favs:
Kite flying
Hiking
Motorcycle Riding

But I also come across things that make you say "Wha??????" ...and they can only be explained with pictures - like this or this.

If you're still not sure what gives me ticks makes me tick, you should go visit here or here.

So I hope you enjoy your stay here...and come back and visit often!!

  27. Hi,

I've stopped by from SITS & I'd just like to say I love the honesty of your blog - it can be so hard to resist the urge to censor when you have the voice of fear of judgement whispering to you.

    Congratulations on SITS!

  28. Congrats on your SITS day! Oh I love the photographs! I too have a love of photography (I'd love to do it professionally one day... yeah...)

I'm also divorced and found myself on my own with three kids a few years ago. I honestly thought I'd stay that way for a long time. It was the toughest and yet most strengthening time in my entire life. But then a wonderful man walked into my life and we just had a little baby of our own together.

    Enjoy your day! x

  49. I was thinking wait a sec, I've been here before...it was yesterday for you post-its. LOL

Read your post about the ex's girlfriend. You're being such a good mom by being civil to her. It has to be hard not to want to smack her instead.

Hope you have a great SITS day!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Happy SITS day! I love your resolution of taking a picture everyday. The older my kids get the less pictures of them that I have. Could be that they don't like to ham it up the way they used to. Enjoy your special day!

  51. Congratulations first of all on your big SITS day! Wow, how exactly do you manage to do it all, single Mom, two boys, a teacher, photography, the dating scene and more!! I bow down to you in complete awe :-) I like your idea of taking a photo a day, I might have to try that if I ever get my much needed new camera. There is something magical about kite flying, we recently did it for the first time with our daughter (she grew bored pretty fast but it was still magical watching that kite soar and her imagination with it!). I am (or rather was pre-toddler) an avid hiker and you certainly live in a wonderful place to hike. Your post about the lack of nap curtailing a planned excursion made me laugh. For me right now getting my daughter to walk more than a few yards without needing a snack is the challenge! Anyway, enough of me rambling, enjoy your special day!

  52. Happy SITS day! Enjoy it!
I too started doing a photo a day on my photoblog at the beginning of the year and gave up some time in March :(

  72. Happy SITS day. I have recently befriended a single mom with 2 girls. The husband left unexpectedly and broke the heart of all 3 ladies of the house, not to mention leaving them in financial distress (this country doesn't have forced child support laws!) I love her and her girls, but it is trying for her to be mom/pop all alone. Best wishes and peace to you.

  99. Happy SITS day!! It looks like you have a lot on your plate. But based on the posts I have read you seem to handle it well, with a bit humor. Congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  100. First, I love the post-it note conversation with your kids about going to bed while the sun is up. I had to do it...I remember feeling the outrage, too. But now, it's just like....there WILL be sleep!

I am an army wife, and I get a little irritated when other army wives say that their life is like being a single mother. It is not. It is not easy, but not nearly as challenging as single motherhood. For one thing, I don't work and neither do most of them...and if they do, they have control over 2 incomes and power of attorney to boot!
So keep it up! I'll keep reading about it...

    ReplyDelete
  101. I just love your 2 boys! Isn't being the mom of 2 boys the best? We have some things in common, I was a teacher before having my boys and may go back to teaching after they are both in school.

  108. It's clear that you have a lot going on but you have found the loveliest way to express it all through your words and compelling photos. I think your kids (both your own and those in your class) are lucky to have you in their lives. And, your ex, no question, "friending" you makes him no friend at all. Men can be so clueless, it boggles the mind! Good think you have a sense of humor.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Happy SITS day! Off to go look around. :)

  134. happy sits day.
i was struck by the similarities between you and my daughter (who also blogs). you should stop by her blog b/c i think you are truly kindred spirits. (http://engens.blogspot.com/). i was literally BLOWN AWAY by the number of things in common (only girl in family of four, doing the 365, wanting to be teacher first and now photographer, legs longer than most men she dated although they were taller than her--weird ironic things but substantive stuff too--go figure).

anyway, you sound like a very involved person who is also a free spirit. very nice.

have a happy happy sits day. hope you get lots of visitors and many great comments.

    ReplyDelete

  137. I love blogs that share their own life stories - what a great outlet for you. And KUDOS for being a single mom. It's a hard enough job as it is being a mom, but when you do it on your own - it's even that much harder.

    Happy SITS day!!!

    ReplyDelete
  138. What a fun gal you are! Geez Louise - single mom, 2 boys, AND a teacher?! Wow! That's a lot. I work at a school as well so I know how much energy that alone takes! Congrats on your SITS day, off to check you out!

  155. A HUGE Congratulations on your day to shine with SITS! I look forward to getting to know you better. I was you once and I remember having young children, working full time and dealing with the X/girlfiend. It will make you a better woman and fill you with compassion which is a good thing.

  173. Congrats on your SITS day! As a homeschooling mom, I must say I have tons of respect for you. Being a teacher is NOT an easy job. You're overworked, and underpaid - and you have one of the most important jobs on this planet!

SITS visiting & blog following. Peace. :)
