  1. Those post-its totally cracked me up: "I'm NOT trying to trick you!" I used to think my Mom was up so some shady tricks trying to get me to go to sleep.

  2. haha it IS pure torture to put the kids to bed when it's still light out - thankfully we only have 1 week left of school so only a few more nights of "hell" lol!

  3. It's impossible to get your kids to sleep when it's still light outside. Especially if they can hear the neighbor kids outside. What's wrong with those neighbors? Should't their kids be in bed too???

  4. Yeah I have been there myself, now I go to bed before my kids do. HA!

  6. Oh, the long summer days!

My boys go to bed early- like 6:30-7. So, there's still a lot of sunlight left.

  7. Bed In Summer
    by Robert Louis Stevenson

In winter I get up at night
    And dress by yellow candle-light.
In summer, quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.

I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping on the tree,
Or hear the grown-up people's feet
Still going past me in the street.

And does it not seem hard to you,
When all the sky is clear and blue,
And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day?

  9. LOL, I have so been there. It did seem so unfair as a child. I only wish that having to go to bed when the sun is still up was my biggest problem. :)

  10. Cute!! I Hate those long bright nights trying to get the kids to sleep - as IF!
It's WINTER down here at the bottom of the world in New ZEaland, so we get dark nice and early. That's the upside of rain and cold I guess :)

    Happy SITS day :)

  15. It weird how the post-it notes remind me of me and my cats. Very good read.

  16. Hilarious! Does it help that this is a conversation being had in bedrooms across the world?
    Probably not.......

  18. Glad I'm not the only one who makes my kid go to bed when it's still light out. Invest in a room darkening blind or just really heavy curtains. Works wonders.

    Happy SITS day!

  21. ohmygoodness, this was so cute!!! i was just wondering the other day how my baby (when she is more grown) will ever want to go to bed when it's still light out!!! Right now she's 20months and we just have dark curtains in her room.....maybe she'll never realize the difference if we just keep those curtains ha?! LOL.

  22. It doesn't get dark until 10:30 here! We bought thick curtains! Good luck!
