Numbness

Numbness
~n. - Deprived of the power to feel or move normally; the state of being without feeling

it is easier to be this way
to feel hurt, or sad, or angry would change nothing
so I walk away with my head held high
instead of pulling myself along the gritty bottom of another crushing heartbreak
I will hold my head high
and not give into the emotions
numbness is my friend
I will embrace my friend
till I can see light again
