Can someone turn off that light??

So... I've decided that either I am sending off some VERY strong pheromones ... or someone has turned a sign like this beaming above my head and I just don't know it...:

 

Because in the past 2 weeks, I have been contacted by four (yes, FOUR) guys I have dated previously.

Now... I'm not talking like the one I broke up with 6 months ago (Honestly, I am really surprised he hasn't been thrown into this weirdness...), I'm talking about a guy I dated 4 years ago, and three I went on dates with three years ago.

They are all just "checking in".

I'm no dumbie.

"Checking in" means 'I'm lonely.'

"Checking in" means 'Are you lonely too?'

"Checking in" means 'Maybe... even though it didn't work before, it can work now?'

The thing is... I'm good.

I'm so slap busy that I don't know whether I'm coming or going, but I'm good... and I'm happy ... and I don't need a guy to keep me that way.

So... give me some strong soap to wash off those pheromones... Or maybe, could someone chuck a rock at that neon sign?... cause the light is keeping people up here.

Mama said there'd be days like this

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has days like this and can still laugh.

Games I will wait to let my kids learn...

So, there are things that I have saved to share because I kinda felt like other posts got lost in the 3o days of truth....

My brother and his girlfriend came down a while back.

They like to spoil my boys. (as good uncles do)

They came home from Wal-mart with this.

Now, I am not like the rest of the world...

I didn't learn how to play beer pong until I was WAY out of college

BUT that doesn't mean I want my boys to make up for MY lost time

...and be pros at it by the time THEY get there.

I know....cool, that it is... it went back to the store.

insect invasion

I'm not really that fond of insects... but I'm not really "afraid" of them either.

(Mice, on the other hand,... *shudder*)

I mean, in HS (as my own little "social" experiment) I used to catch small little house spiders... allow them to live and spin a web in the confined area I had placed them in... and then catch slightly larger house spiders and place them into the confined area.

The small little spider always won... chasing and catching the large spider... and eventually having it for dinner.

It was like "home turf advantage".

I know that all seems a little strange... but I applied it to my life.

It help me to remind myself that even though I didn't "run" with the popular crowd... Some time, some day, I would have the home turf advantage. It wouldn't matter the "size" of attitute coming my way... I would be able to handle it with speed and grace.

I feel like that is true with my life now. I have friends that make me feel like I am part of the "in" crowd because they like me for me. I feel like I can take on the world most days...

I haven't kept spiders in years, but somehow "they" got the invite that it was okay to visit recently...

and they sent a praying mantice bully me to take over my remote. WTF is that all about??

These "big dogs" have been visiting my life a lot lately (and not just in insect form)... but guess what??

I'm the little one with the home turf advantage!

One way to get the message across...

I typed the following back at the beginning of August, but then got freaked out.

Freaked out by who might be following my blog and waiting for recognition for their doings.

That fear is finally past (I think)... so I thought I'd share.

So... I got a fortune on my door frame... You know like you get in a fortune cookie.

It was attached with a paper clip... a paper clip that had one end sharpened and that sharpened end was FIRMLY pushed into my door frame so there was NO way it was going anywhere!

Now, I hadn't gone out my front door since the night "the new guy" and his daughter came to dinner that evening... so who knows how long it has been there.

I mean THAT was over a week ago!

So...Who do you think it was from?

Spencer? the new guy?

Also... did they leave it there meaning *I* will get what *my* heart desires??

Or what *their's* desires??
...and if it is their desires, what is their desire??

Yeah... I appreciate the message... but it also confuses me at the same time.

So after I typed this all out, and I was past the initial confusion, panic set in.

I mean, NOT a WHOLE lot of people know where I live.
I don't live right in the middle of town.
So for a message to be left on my door with a sharpened paper clip...yeah, it was purposeful... and I needed answers.

So, I turned to my trusty blog stat counter.

Sure enough, Spencer had been following my blog (though he thought anonymously).

He had began following on August 12th.

I figure he "delivered" the message on August 13th (his birthday).
I found it on August 14th.
He then emailed me on the 16th.

I didn't respond.

He continue to follow my blog daily until I posted this on the 19th.

I guess it pissed him off because he hasn't followed since.

But that's okay... cause I don't like little messages that freak me out!
(BTW... I will never look at fortune cookie messages the same way again...)

Also, FYI if you want to show a girl you like her... a sharpened paper clip is not the way to go... I don't care what the message is!

Spending time with my brother... I love him!!!

Sprecher's root beer is AWESOME!!! My brother says their beer is just as awesome!
